Also, I love French WW2/Resistance books. Some of my favorites, besides what you’ve listed, are: Auschwitz and After by Charlotte Delbo, Village of Secrets: Defying the Nazis in Vichy France by Moorehead, A Train in Winter also by Moorehead, Gardens of Stone: My Boyhood in the French Resistance by Grady, and Resistance: A French Woman’s Journal of the War by Agnes Humbert. Thanks for covering this topic!! -Stina
A Train In Winter is great! I didn't recommend it because I'm trying to keep the focus on French women and that one's all about the Yanks ;) but it's really terrific. Agnes Humbert may turn up later in the show.
I wonder if there are two books with the same title. The one I’m talking about is all about French women in the Resistance...or am I remembering completely incorrectly?
Hi Diana, Have you watched A French Village on MHz? It is my favorite TV series of all time. It is a French-produced TV series about a rural village in Occupied France. I’ve watched it 4-5 times and it’s so so amazing. -Stina
Have a you seen Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie? Fabulous France in the 50s and quite funny. I don't know where you might be able to watch it in the US. In Australia season 2 is on SBS.
Also love the Accursed Kings. The 5 part series with Gerard Depardieu is on YouTube
In terms of WWII the story of Nancy Wake is pretty amazing. New Zealand born, grew up in Australia. Went to France as a journalist. Married a French man and with the war joined the resistance. She became known as the White Mouse and was on the Gestapo's most wanted list. Nancy Wake: A Biography of Our Greatest War Heroine by Peter FitzSimons is her biography and there's also a tv series about her but it's so old I don't know if you can find it but there are some docos on YouTube
Starting a thread for FRENCH MURDER MYSTERIES!!!!! Please share any recommendations you have - my Kindle is READY.

No, but I learned about it recently while I was researching this miniseries! Where have you been able to view it?
I watched it on MHZ which is a subscription channel like Acorn. BUT, I just saw last night that the first season is streaming free on Amazon Prime!
